Dine No More

The fast food joint can be seen in all its splendor in his film, complete with antique beverages machines, antiquated equipment, and even old-school pink and blue chairs. We must say, we don’t think we would sit here now…

Drink, Anyone?

This ‘time capsule’ McDonald’s includes counters where the cash registers would have been, as well as refrigerators and shelving in the back. Considering that none of these appliances have been touched in decades, it has to be said that they are in remarkable condition. Maybe there is something more to how they were able to retain their condition…

Old School Kitchen

It also features an ancient beverage machine, TV monitors, and French fry labels. Again, all the equipment still looks shiny. You’d expect an untouched McDonalds over decades to look a bit worse for wear, but this McDonalds seems to defy logic…

Always Fresh, Always Here

Along with old paper and packaging bags, there’s a hot chocolate machine with the tagline ‘Always fresh, always here.’ We like how the packages used to have a lot more character, it shows the fun, family nature of McDonalds. Nowadays, packages are more bland.

Coke Was Popular

The options on show haven’t changed drastically from the 80s till today. However, it does beg to question, why were three separate Coca Cola sections required? Perhaps it would’ve been more wise to incorporate some other options? Or perhaps nearly every person ordered Coke, meaning that multiple pumps were needed at all times.

Take A Seat

Remember the old pink and blue theme? We think it was a lot more welcoming than today’s designs. However, would you sit here right now if we paid you? Or is it possible a scary ghost of Ronald McDonald would come out of the bathroom yielding an axe with a crazed look… We think the latter is perhaps more likely… It does look like a scene right out of a horror film, doesn’t it?

Old School Monitors

The monitors here certainly look very dated now. Not only have the monitors yellowed after time, but they are huge boxes with tiny screens. We can imagine that the quality on screen wasn’t so good, we wonder if the workers could even read the orders properly? We guess many people may have sent wrong orders back in the 80s…

Classic Products

It’s good to see that even though McDonalds may have changed in appearance over the years, the old classics have remained consistent. The ‘Fillet-O-Fish’ has been a classic at McDonalds for generations, serving as the greatest alternative to meat. May the Fillet-O-Fish live on for years to come…

The Ice Cream Machine Was Broken… Shock

There has been a long running joke about the McDonalds ice cream machines, they are always ‘broken’. This has lead to people challenging McDonalds workers by saying they’ll come back and look for themselves! However, they simply are just often broken. Was it a surprise that this abandoned one was too? Probably not.
