He’s a passionate jazz aficionado, and one of his biggest influences is Django Reinhardt, the legendary gypsy guitarist. Carlos Santana was born in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. He walked onto the Woodstock stage, virtually unknown, and completely wowed the audience. In the 1960s and 1970s, his band Santana grew to notoriety by pioneering a mix of rock and roll and Latin American jazz.
