Maxer Jr. is best known for playing Jethro Bodine in the TV show “The Beverly Hillbillies” from 1962 to 1971. In 2003, he tried to build a hotel and casino based on the show in Carson City but faced opposition. He eventually chose Douglas County instead. Unfortunately, the project was halted in December 2017 with no future plans. With a net worth of $50 million in 2019, Baer is the only surviving cast member from the popular ’60s sitcom.
