Jane Powell began her dance training at the age of two. When she was five, she moved to Oakland, California with her parents in the hopes of being discovered. However, that didn’t happen, so she decided to focus on singing instead. In 1944, Powell signed a contract with MGM, marking the official start of her successful career. Recently, she appeared on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and also did some work in theater. Powell has received numerous awards and honors throughout her career, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
