However, that didn’t happen, so she decided to focus on singing instead. In 1944, Powell signed a contract with MGM, marking the official start of her successful career. Recently, she appeared on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and also did some work in theater. Powell has received numerous awards and honors throughout her career, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
