We are glad to hear that some of the online spectators tried to reach out to Kelsey instead of engaging in such debates. While Christin got comments about how terrible Schaffen and Sarah were, there were some people who sympathized with the poor girl and tried to make her feel better. They complimented her and suggested all kinds of things she could try with her hair. Kelsey was comforted by these acts of kindness. It was rather sad that they understood her better than her dad did.

The post kept getting more comments, likes, and shares as time went on. Christin figured out that she could use the attention to help Kelsey feel better. A lot of people read and shared the story, so it seemed like a good idea to create a fundraiser to get another treatment at the salon for her daughter. She launched a campaign on GoFundMe and asked people to donate some money for the sake of her daughter. Back then, she had no clue if this was going to be a success or not.
