He had to stand up for himself, although Emmit wasn’t confrontational by nature. He shot a remark at the woman, and she looked like his words had struck her in the face. With disbelief, her eyes grew wide as she recoiled.

The crowd cheered and applauded, happy with the retort of Emmit and loving the woman’s reaction. Nevertheless, the story was still not over.
