Accounting Errors – Krispy Kreme

An internal study from Krispy Kreme that was published in 2005 by The New York Times reportedly acknowledged that over $25 million had been lost due to improper accounting.

The SEC concluded in 2009 that the chain’s leadership had exaggerated business profits after conducting an investigation. Though not much was required of the corporation, three executives were punished with a $600,000 fine. Publicly, Krispy Kreme continues to insist that there was no fraud.
