Charles’ wedding was imminent, and he started to feel anxious. According to Sally Beddel Smith (royal biographer), in her book about Prince Charles and his ex-girlfriend, Camilla Parker-Bowers, it would seem that Prince Charles already has feelings for her. He was forced to break up with her and to marry Diana. Smith alleges that the Prince cried by the night of Diana’s marriage. Charles and Camilla’s affair was made public after the birth of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Not only were models struggling to satisfy Diana’s dress requirements, but something similar was also being stressed. Diana is tall, but she wanted a few more inches in her shoes. Clive Shilton, the cobbler, said, “Her biggest problem was that she wasn’t tall enough to look tall next to Prince Charles, and since she was very tall, the shoes had to have a low heel.” Each slipper was strikingly fine and intricate. Each pair of one-of-a-kind silk slippers was decorated with 542 sequins and 132 pearls, and concealed on the shoe’s arch was a “C” and “D” with a love heart.
