First album “Valotte” was a huge success in 1984, with two top ten hits and nominations for Best New Artist and Album of the Year. It was Julian’s second song, “Valotte,” that won him a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1985. However, the reception to his subsequent albums was less enthusiastic. Julian took a break from the music business in 1991. “When I’m Sixty-Four” was reissued in 2002, more than a decade after the original publication date of the song. White Feather Foundation, an environmental or charitable organization, was founded by him in 2009. He was inspired by his father’s advice to do so. On the 70th anniversary of his father’s birth in 2010, Julian presented a show of 35 photographs, including a selection of Beatles memorabilia, to commemorate his father’s birth. The title of a photography exhibition featuring Julian Lennon’s work is “Timeless: The Photography of Julian Lennon.”

Zak Starkey

In August of that year, following their marriage earlier in the year, Ringo Starr and Maureen Starkey gave birth to their first child, Zak. It didn’t matter how hard his father tried to keep Zak away from the increasingly stressful music industry, he couldn’t resist being drawn in by the drum set that his father had picked up. This isn’t surprising given that his godfather Keith Moon (of The Who) gave him a drum set when he was just eight years old. Having a father and godfather like those two is no laughing matter when it comes to the youngster’s interest in drumming and rock n’ roll. His interest in it has grown since his parents divorced in 1975. The Icicle Works and his father’s All-Starr Party both had a place in his life.
