The Story Begins Here
Leaving The Room!
Susan was dumped without explanation. When the doctor received the results of her baby’s testing, he promptly contacted the police and exited the room, leaving Susan there. Susan was becoming concerned as she grasped the gravity of the situation…

Leaving The Room!
Breaking The Door Open
Susan flushed as she realized the doctor had shut the door behind her. She started hammering on the door with all her might, hoping to burst it open. And it gave apart after a few hits. She was now confronted with the physicians who had imprisoned her…

Breaking The Door Open
The Explanation
The doctor was now compelled to tell Susan what he had uncovered, and when she heard it, she dropped onto the floor… But what had the doctor discovered? What were these holes in her baby’s nose, and why had cops been called?

The Explanation
Typical Morning
Susan didn’t notice anything unusual when she awakened to her baby wailing. It looked like any ordinary morning. She’d stood up and gone to the bathroom to change Roy’s diaper. She didn’t detect anything amiss when preparing his milk until she was ready to pour it into his cup, at which point she was prepared to scream.

Typical Morning
Meet Susan
Susan, 40, is a single mother. She had previously dated, but it had never gone well. She hoped that this time would be different. She’d put in a lot of effort preparing for the date. She hoped for the best because it was their first face-to-face encounter, but not everything would go as planned.

Meet Susan
Not Interested
There was nothing unusual about the date. She met the man online, knowing it was a long shot, but she still went out with him. He didn’t appear very interested in Susan’s prior relationship’s child. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to see him again after the date.

Not Interested
Aching Nose
The morning following her date, Susan noticed something odd about baby Roy. Roy looked to be suffering from a severe nose ache as he kept scratching it. But it wasn’t until she examined it closely that she discovered why his nose ached, which worried her. What was the situation with her child?

Aching Nose
Holes Inside Nose
Roy’s nose was pierced with several little holes. She believed something had gotten stuck to his nose, but she spotted the wounds poking into his flesh when she approached it. When she put her finger on it, Roy began to weep. Something wasn’t right, but what was it?

Holes Inside Nose
A Bug
Maybe a bug bit him or climbed into her baby’s nose? Maybe it got stuck on his nose throughout the night? But she’d never seen a bug behave this way before. Susan did an online search and discovered that no bug was to blame. It couldn’t get much worse.

A Bug
Confused
Susan’s puzzlement grew as she studied Roy’s nose. These were no ordinary holes. There was something inside the perforations. She couldn’t see anything, but she knew there had to be something else there. The holes, like whatever was within, were hard. She needed to act, and she knew the ideal option.

Confused
Obtain Tweezers
Susan decided to retrieve whatever was in her baby’s nose with tweezers. She walked to the restroom and got out her tweezers before delving into his nose. She was completely unaware of what she was getting herself into. This may make things worse, but she needed to act.

Baby’s Life Is In Danger
Susan detested doctors. She prefers to deal with problems on her own. She seldom went until something was badly wrong, and as much as she disliked the notion of going to the doctor, she knew she couldn’t manage it on her own. And her baby’s life was on the line. So she took a chance and called the doctor.

An Appointment
That afternoon, the doctor’s office scheduled a semi-urgent appointment. They assured her that, while others might arrive before baby Roy, she would most likely see her before the end of the day. Meanwhile, Susan was informed by the doctor that she needed to do something to help him.

An Appointment
What Was She Up To?
The doctor urged Susan to explore any recent changes that might have caused this. Anything unexpected or out of the ordinary. It would considerably help the doctor figure out what was wrong. What may have caused this? She didn’t know for certain. Susan promised to think about it and hung up the phone.

What Was She Up To?
A Hike
Susan thought back on the previous week. She and her child had not done anything unusual. She and Roy just went on a trip in the woods. Before, the infant may have easily touched something out there. Maybe a fungus or some tainted moss? That is probably a possibility…maybe?

A Hike
Too Many People
Susan kept thinking that the hike made no sense. Others have undoubtedly walked that route. It was a well-worn trail. She wouldn’t be the first person to go through anything like this. Other indicators would have to exist. She ruled it out as a possibility, but there had to be another.

Too Many People
An Average Guy
It was tough to come up with anything unusual. Susan was your average young girl. She did nothing but hike and go to the neighborhood coffee shop. She worked from home and seldom left the house. She was a rather dull person until it hit her. Something else was also out of the usual.

An Average Guy
Online Dating
The night before, Susan had gone on a date. She’d been corresponding with a man online for some time and had finally chosen to date him. Susan was ready to resume her dating life. She had yet to meet her match and was hoping for a wonderful date. Things would finally take a surprising turn.

Online Dating
The Date
From the outset of the date, Susan felt uncomfortable about the man. He didn’t appear to be concerned about her or her child. He loathed her because she was a single mother. But if she started thinking this, he’d do something to demonstrate he cared. It appeared to be an unusual date, but there was more to it.

The Date
Desperate
Susan had no idea why he’d approached her in the first place. She’d been in a hurry and hadn’t been thinking clearly. After going over her communications, she knew he didn’t like her. Could he be involved in any of this?

Desperate
Nothing Physical
Susan couldn’t believe he was participating in this. They hadn’t been physical, and she hadn’t called him since the night before. He hadn’t even contacted her. If he had done something, wouldn’t he have said something? Susan wasn’t sure, but Roy’s appointment was getting closer. She had no choice but to depart.

Nothing Physical
Changing
Susan had no idea what was wrong with her baby’s nose when she departed for the visit. As she drove to the doctor’s office, she continued to think, but nothing came to mind. Thankfully, the holes in his nose didn’t seem to be altering significantly. They’d become bigger and more noticeable, but it wasn’t too horrible. Right?

Changing
Nervous
She arrived at the doctor’s office and sat in her car for a few moments, attempting to devise other solutions. Susan couldn’t think of anything else. Susan came into the doctor’s office with her baby, signed in, and took a deep breath to relax. She anticipated waiting a long time to see the doctor, but other individuals had different intentions.

Nervous
Waiting Room
Baby Roy was the center of attention in the doctor’s waiting area. At this time, the holes in his nose were visible, and everyone around him was taken away by what they witnessed. Susan didn’t notice anything until the rest of the crowd grew interested.

Waiting Room
Curiosity
The other employees in the workplace did not attempt to disguise their enthusiasm. The few youngsters there wanted to see, but their parents forbade them. Even yet, it seemed as though everyone had forgotten why they were there in the first place, with their medical difficulties. Everyone was interested in what was going on with the baby. Susan, to be fair, did as well.

Curiosity
The Doctor
The doctor then emerged to summon the next patient. Everyone in the room agreed Susan’s kid should be shown first. None of their problems were major, but Roy’s was. Susan was annoyed, but she thanked them nevertheless. It worried her, but she knew she could wait. The doctor was not convinced.

The Doctor
The Doctor
Once inside his office, the doctor was able to check Roy’s nose fully, and he was amazed. He’d never seen anything quite like that. He’d remember if he had. You didn’t completely forget about this. Furthermore, the doctor had never seen anything similar in his medical texts. He was completely unaware.

The Doctor
A Few Calls
Baby Roy needed his attention the most and was determined to find a remedy for whatever was wrong here. This would take some time, according to the doctor. He made a few phone calls to transfer his patients to other doctors on call.

A Few Calls
Testing
While they awaited the results of Susan’s tests, the doctor carefully checked Roy’s nose. The unusual thing was that baby Roy had previously been wailing, but he no longer did. His entire nose was numb. It didn’t even hurt when the doctor pushed on it. This was a red flag.

Testing
Permission
The doctor continued to examine Roy’s nose, and when the first results returned, he was unhappy. The tests he’d requested had yielded no results. He could have done more, but he wanted Susan’s OK first. It would take up a substantial amount of Susan’s time. What would be his reaction?

Permission
Forums
Susan agreed to the tests, and as they waited for the findings, the doctor, who had found nothing significant, uploaded some images of Roy’s nose on a medical forum. He hoped that another doctor had witnessed something similar. It would be some time before they heard back.

Private Messages
While her baby napped, Susan thought she needed some fresh air and went to the restroom. While he was away, the doctor got a private message from the forum. He excitedly opened it, hoping for the answer he sought. And, to his delight, it was! But it was also bad news, and things needed to change soon.

Private Messages
A Serious Issue
Another doctor had encountered this situation before, and it might become a huge problem for everyone, including Susan if they didn’t act immediately. The doctor read the message multiple times because he knew that if the other doctor was accurate, he needed to act swiftly.

A Serious Issue
Results
This was the final chapter. Susan’s doctor was anxiously awaiting the results, which came nearly soon after he read the forum message. When he got the findings, they chilled him to the bone. The other physician was accurate. Susan’s doctor exited his office, and everything flipped upside down.

Results
Empty Office
Susan came out of the restroom. Roy’s nose was in poor condition. The holes in his nose were becoming bigger. Susan was getting increasingly afraid, but she knew she had to show the doctor. There was only one problem. The doctor was not in his office when Susan returned. What should she have done?

Empty Office
Locked In
Susan was considering her options when she heard a disturbance behind her. She’d just walked through a locked door from the outside! She and her child were both stuck inside. Worse, she overheard the doctor informing others that he had contacted the cops. What had happened?!

Locked In
Questions
Susan pleaded through the door for an explanation, but no one answered. Nobody was responding to her queries since all of the nurses and physicians were feverishly conversing with one another. But this was enough for Susan. All she had to do was stay calm until the cops came.

Questions
A Million Thoughts
Susan was sure that she would not die! She was nervous and scared, and the staff’s reaction to the baby’s nose concerned her. What was the problem? Was he going to perish? A million ideas were racing through her mind. She attempted to remain calm, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.

A Million Thoughts
Desperate
Those worries were rapidly replaced by hatred. Why wasn’t anyone approaching her? Susan started kicking at the door because she had no other choice. She was anxious to get out. Susan couldn’t hear the physicians shouting at her to stop hammering because it was too noisy. She was dead set on fleeing.

Desperate
Getting A Foot In The Door
After a few kicks, the door lock shattered and swung wide open. Susan’s doctor stepped back as the folks on the opposite side began yelling. Susan was panting profusely. It hadn’t been easy to push through the door, but she needed answers to know what was going on.

Getting A Foot In The Door
Stay Back!
Susan’s doctor advised everyone else to go while she stayed. Right now, she should avoid becoming too close to anyone. Susan’s doctor’s terrified look told her all she needed to know about the fate of her and her baby, but Susan remained unfazed. She threatened to leave unless they answered her inquiries.

Stay Back!
The Police
Three armed cops entered the premises and recognized Susan before her doctor could finish speaking. “It’s THEM!” said the doctor, motioning to Susan. All three cops pulled out their firearms and carefully pointed them at Susan, who was suddenly dizzy. What the hell was going on?!

The Police
Terrified
As the officers concentrated their attention on her, Susan hastily raised her hands. She was nearly in tears and pleaded with them to tell her what was happening. The infant was instructed to remain back by the police since the holes in her nasal thumb had taken up about half of her nose.

Terrified
Isolation
One of the cops calmly informed Susan that they would tell her everything but that she and her baby needed to be isolated immediately. Susan agreed to the requirements but indicated emphatically that she would not hesitate to unlock another door to acquire answers. She was afraid, and no one was able to help her.

Isolation
Cleaning Up
Susan entered the doctor’s office and shut the door behind her. Susan spotted the workers coming in with heavy cleaning supplies and instantly started cleaning everything, including the floors, walls, and door. Finally, the doctor knocked on Susan’s door to notify her of the situation.

Cleaning Up
A Virus
Her doctor initially apologized for not notifying Susan of the situation. He was afraid. It wasn’t every day that a person with a nasty flesh-eating illness arrived at the hospital and had to go through operations he’d never had to go through before. He was in a bad mood, but there was more.

A Virus
A Plant
He inquired about Susan’s activities the day before. Susan had gone for a trek before her date that night. Fortunately for Susan, the horrible date was not the cause of everything. Instead, during their trip, the infant most likely came into touch with an infected plant. But which one?

A Plant
Helping Out
Susan couldn’t think of anything to say. She briefed the officers and his doctor about his journey and everything she saw that might be relevant. She was at a loss for what to do. She was more worried about the treatment plan. Could they possibly help the child? Is the virus going to devour his nose?

Helping Out
Everybody’s Panicked
The cops were summoned because they needed to talk to Susan about her hike, but when they saw her exit the isolated room, they worried because her doctor had panicked. The hospital, fortunately, had the required medicine, but the infant had to be quarantined for a time. It was a complete mess, but there was more.

Fortunately, the drug halted the virus’s progress. It began to reverse the condition within a few days. But what about the plant?

Treatment
Locating The Plant
After a long investigating, the cops kept everyone off the path and uncovered a plant that was not native to the region. It was tested and shown to be the source of Susan’s problem. It was uprooted and obliterated. There have been no other occurrences, and Susan was fully recovered and ready to go on dates again within a month.
