One of the high points in life for some people is finishing college and earning a degree. But not Anthony Bourdain. The chef “didn’t care” much about his education while attending the liberal arts college Vassar, according to an interview his brother gave to GQ. He therefore made no effort to see things through to completion. Anthony made the decision to leave school early rather than finish his degree and found work as a dishwasher in a Provincetown restaurant. Given that it helped launch his cooking career and helped him realize what he wanted to do with his life, this wasn’t a bad decision to make. But getting there would take some time.
